New and what's going on:

July 15 - July 19 the Columbia County Fair in Saint Helens Oregon will be building a raised garden/compost exibit. There will be a working compost in with the garden so that the redworms can work at breaking down the compost and at the same time feed the garden plants. We'll have more on this later.

Well it looks like the great pumpkin contest may just become the "great pumpkin" pumpkin patch. We will have many varieties of pumpkins to include some really large pumpkins.

Redworms in the news!!! Checkout the latest article written for Northwest Redworms written by "Vancouver food net" .

Worms are not kept on hand, they need to be harvested. We harvest every Saturday by 1 pm. Orders must be placed prior to 5 pm Friday to be ready for the following week. Pick up day is also needed. Occasionally we have orders that don't get picked up as scheduled so don't hesitate to ask if we have some on hand.

We're looking for nationwide redworm/European Nightcrawler suppliers. The spring and summer is our highest volume season for redworm sales, so if you would like an additional income please contact me, Doug 360-513-7251 or dougknippel@northwestredworms.com

See the new compost harvester in action. We have developed a small home castings harvester for the do-it-yourself kind of person that likes to save time and use that great fertilizer that your redworms are working so hard to produce. For more information and pricing to the compost Products page

Assemble it yourself...small, medium or large cedar bin kits are is now shippable for a reasonable price. It comes partially assembled and takes 30 to 45 minutes to finish with a cordless drill. You can find them in the cedar bins products section.

**Redworm Farm** Vermicompost display case. See the educational products page for more information. On the right is the new black plastic cover to make sure all the light is blocked so your redworms can work with ease in the darkness.

We have also changed our redworm hatchery to a "miniature redworm farm" Redworms egg cocoons have a much better chance to survive and hatch when they are undisturbed, so we are suppling the redworms in the farm ready to lay their cocoons. These are also on the educational products page.

The store hours are 7 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week, but you need to call first to make sure we are not on an errand (I harvest redworms at our other site). If you need directions please go to our contact us page and use our map quest.
